Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the conducting authority of the JEE Mains Examinations has released an online admission cum detailed advertisement for the JEE Mains Exam 2018 recently. The online registrations to the JEE Mains Exam will begin from December 1, 2017. All those candidates who aim to appear for the Exam next year can register themselves for the same. CBSE has released the detailed notification on its official site and candidates are requested to go through all the instructions carefully. JEE Mains Exam 2018- New Changes
In 2017, few changes in the exam pattern were introduced by the ministry of HRD, Government of India. They are:
- Slot Booking: From 2018, students registering for JEE Mains Exam will be able to book their slot for the online mode examination.
- No weightage to class 12th Marks: No weightage will be given to the marks availed by the students in class 12th for calculating All India Rank 9AIR) in JEE Main.
- Minimum 75% Required (65% for SC/ST): The candidates must secure at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST) in class 12th or must be in top 20 percentile in higher secondary examination conducted by the respective boards in order to qualify for admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs.
- Candidates must have Aadhar Card number in order to register for the JEE Mains Exam 2018.
The registrations for the exam will start from December 1, 2017, and the last date to apply is January 1, 2018, while the last date to submit the application fee is 3rd January. The exam is scheduled to be held in the month of April next year.
Aadhar Mandatory for Online Registration
As per the revised code of conduct which CBSE has designed for all its major examinations, the board has made Aadhar Card mandatory in order to apply online for JEE Main Exam 2018. The Aadhar Card is must to validate the identity of the candidate appearing for JEE Mains Exam 2018.
All those Candidates who wish to appear in the JEE Main Exam 2018 but do not possess the Aadhar Card shall apply for the same before applying. Also, the States of J&K, Assam, and Meghalaya have been excluded from the compulsion list. Candidates belonging to these states can use ration card, passport number, bank account number or any other ID number issued by the Government of India to apply for the JEE Mains Exam 2018.
