Rock Garden

The Rock Garden located in sector 1 of Chandigarh has two open-air theatres within its premises. Located on 40 acres of the area, it was designed by Nek Chand. The open-air theatres located at Rock Garden are usually used for organizing events, fairs, and functions. The smaller theatre can accommodate 100 persons while the bigger one can accommodate 300 plus people in one go.

Timings: Open all seven days in a week.

Summer: 9 am to 7 pm / Winter 9 am to 6 pm

 

Open Hand Capitol Complex

The Capitol Complex located in sector 1 Chandigarh holds a symbolic reference of architect Le Corbusier. UNESCO has rewarded the complex as one of the World’s heritage site. The complex can be used as an open-air theatre to host large gatherings and conventions.

Kalagram Complex

Bal Bhawan, Sector 23, Chandigarh

The Bal Bhavan open-air theatre was established in the year 1982 and is one of the oldest open-air theatres in Chandigarh. The theatre is being governed by the Tagore Theatre Management, Chandigarh. Many events are organized here. Located in the heart of Chandigarh, this open-air theatre was designed for people who cannot afford to hire Tagore Theatre.

War Memorial Sector 3 Chandigarh

With nearly 8459 names of the Martyred Soldiers, War Memorial at Chandigarh is one of the largest War Memorial of India. Though the place is a little-sacred one it can be used as an open-air theatre to organize various events.

Punjab Kala Bhawan, Chandigarh

Located at sector 16 of Chandigarh, Punjab Kala Bhawan is another open-air theatre in the city. Also known as Punjab Arts Council, the theatre has a seating capacity of around 300 people. The theatre can be availed for theatrical performances, seminars, conferences, musical performances, meetings etc. The rates for hiring the theatre for 3 hours are Rs. 1500 plus service tax.

Garden of Silence

Garden of silence also known as the Buddha Garden is located at the extreme end of Sukhna Lake. The place is considered as best meditative space in Chandigarh.
