India’s first domestic low-cost airline, Air Deccan is all set to relaunch its operations in the world of aviation and tourism. The airlines will begin its second innings with the new name- Simplify Deccan. The airline is launching itself with the discounted air ticket costing only Re 1. Shocked? well, everyone is…and it’s not a joke! Air Deccan is gearing up to touch the sky once again with the tickets costing re 1 only.
Founded by GR Gopinath, Air Deccan started its journey in the year 2003. The airline merged with Vijay Mallya’s Kingfisher Airlines in 2008 and was grounded in 2012 owing to financial duress.
Air Deccan: Bookings Under UDAN Scheme
Air Deccan is yet back in India and relaunching its operations under the UDAN (Ude Deash Ka Aam Nagrik) Scheme.The great news is that the tickets for the flight can be booked at just Re 1. The premier flight of the airlines will take-off on 22 December 2017 from Mumbai to Nasik. The flight will reach from Mumbai to Nasik in just 40 minutes. The airline has launched this Re 1 offer for a limited number of passengers who can avail the tickets at this price through draw of lot. The Airfare for the other passengers traveling through Air Deccan Flight will cost them Rs. 1400 approximately.
UDAN Scheme was introduced by the government in order to connect smaller cities and towns across the country. Through this scheme, people would now get the opportunity to travel by air at prices as low as Rs. 2500. Only short-run flights which are of one-hour duration or less will come under the UDAN Scheme.
Air Deccan: Route and Timing Details
The Air Deccan will begin initially with its four bases at Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi and Shillong. The airline will connect the smaller cities of India, making it easier for people to travel. The airline is yet to finalize its flight schedule but it would soon be available online on its official website.
Air Deccan is planning to introduce four more planes by January next year and is planning to station its second aircraft in Delhi. This would connect Delhi with Shimla, Dehradun, Ludhiana, Pantnagar, Kullu and Agra. For now, the airlines will undertake to and fro journey between Mumbai and Jalgaon and between Nashik and Pune.
