The opening ceremony of the tournament will take place at Wankhede Stadium on 7th April 2018. Due to some logistics issues only two captains, MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma will be attending the opening ceremony of IPL 2018.
Two Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and Varun Dhawan will be performing at the opening ceremony. There was news about Ranveer Singh and Parineeti Chopra performing on the opening ceremony of IPL 2018, but Ranveer backed out because of a shoulder injury and as per reports Parineeti is busy with her work commitments.

The opening ceremony of IPL 2018 will start at 6:15 PM IST on April 7th, 2018. However, the coverage for IPL 2018 will start at 5:00 IST PM on all the channels which are broadcasting IPL this year.
