Don’t Miss The Chandigarh Literature Festival- 2017

Chandigarh Literature festival is going to be held tomorrow at the Panjab University Chandigarh. It is not less than a festival where some of the greatest writers and thinkers from across the country will join the common platform to initiate a meaningful exchange of ideas. This fest is designed to listen to and interact with writers from around India. It was inaugurated in the year 2012 and was a successful event for the city. Not everyone knows that this event is going to be organized by Adab Foundation in Association with Department of English & cultural studies, PU.

Adab Foundation, a not for profit organisation, is behind the idea of conducting this event of art & literature, which is all set to organising the 6th Edition of the region’s biggest & one of India’s most innovative Literary Festival’s – Chandigarh Literature Festival 2017, in association with Department of English & Cultural Studies, Punjab University at the PU from November 10-12. This and the other details of this event were announced by Mr. Mitul Dikshit, Chairman, Adab Foundation & Festival Director Ms. Annie Zaidi, who is a noted writer & poetess. They have also mentioned that this year’s fest will introduce a first for the region — performances based on Literature.

Day 1  Qissebaazi will be performed by Danish Husain and Manu Sikander Dhingra from  The Hoshruba Repertory in which they showcase a ‘theatrical presentation’ which is still, distinctively, ‘storytelling’. 

Poetrification’ will be presented by  Danish Husain, Denzil Smith and Beven Fonseca, etc. Poetrification session will be held on day 1 after a very topical Panel Discussion ‘ Writing Scared: Freedom of expression & Punjabi Literature and many more other surprises are awaiting.

Day 2 will see engaging sessions between some of the best Authors of India & well-established Critics & Literary Experts. A unique session on poetry ‘New Words: Young poets present their work in English, Hindi and Punjabi’ – is a Multi-lingual event & a platform for young poets. This session is the concluding session of CLF 2017 scheduled on Day 3 – November 12.

On Day 3 movie screening of ‘Anaarkali of Aarah’ will take place followed by a discussion between Director Avinash Das & critic Mihir Pandya. The conversation between well – known authors and critics will also take place on the last day of the event.

This time the event is all set with the amazing elements to attract literary enthusiasts, film  & art lovers. If you are one of the art lovers and interested in the event then don’t think much and attend the event for all the 3 days.
